Description of Duties:
The Research Associate assists with Roswell Park Cessation Services (RPCS) project coordination, data analysis, and program evaluation. Leads and assists with data entry and analysis of Roswell Park studies related to tobacco use and cessation; leads and assists with data analysis and manuscript development of data collected through the Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health Study (PATH), RPCS, as well as other data sets available to Health Behavior team members. Identifies, designs, and executes research studies and experimental approaches to address research goals of the Principal Investigator or program. Utilizes spreadsheets, graphical, and statistical software to communicate and interpret results to the research team. Collaborates with team members within Roswell Park and at partner organizations to develop data analytic strategies and interpret findings for publication in peer-review manuscripts and dissemination among the scientific community.
The candidate must minimally have a Master’s degree and the equivalent of eighteen months of full-time professional research experience in a laboratory, clinical or scientific research environment; or a Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of thirty months of full-time professional research experience in a laboratory, clinical or scientific research environment. The preferred candidate will have experience in coordinating and organizing conference calls and meetings with team members from various partner organizations, and good writing ability and experience in writing/editing protocols, manuscripts and grant applications; will possess computer skills including MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat and proven ability to analyze data with statistical software such as SPSS, SAS, or STATA. The candidate will have the ability to multi-task and possess good communication skills.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
