Description of Duties:
The Post-Doctoral Associate's duties include learning multiple aspects of PK/PD as it pertains to translational research and drug development in oncology and conducting scholarly activity within the preclinical/clinical research programs. The Post-Doctoral Associate will develop mathematical models using various nonlinear regression software, such as NONMEM and ADAPT5, interact with students, fellows, and faculty at RPCI and the University at Buffalo Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences (attend presentations and review research projects), and attend meetings and participat in programmatic activities and courses as coordinated by the Department Chair. The Post-Doctoral Assocaite will also perform population PK/PD analyses, generating and writing clinical study reports, in support of oncology drug development and participate in professional organizations and activities offered through the Office of Postgraduate Education including continuing education symposia and certificate programs . The Post-Doctoral Assocaite will prepare and complete a minimum of one research project over the course of the fellowship, including proposing, writing, conducting, analyzing data, and submitting a presentation, at a suitable forum, the results of the research project along with learning mechanisms for seeking grant support and writing one grant application (3-5 pages) during the first/second year of fellowship.
Applicants must possess a Doctorate degree or equivalent degree. The preferred candidate will have a Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Biology, Engineering or other related field. This incumbent must be a highly motivated, hard working individual that works well in a team environment and is very detail oriented.
