Health Research, Inc. (HRI) Roswell Park Division is seeking a full-time Laboratory Technician. The Laboratory Technician focuses on translational and clinical research in the area of cancer immunotherapy. The goal is to develop and test, in pre-clinical settings, new forms of cell-based therapy of cancer combined with manipulation of the tumor micro environment to enhance the effectiveness of cancer immunotherapy. The research involves mouse preclinical models ranging from cell cultures, tumor explant cultures to mouse transplantable tumor models, and to lesser extent human cell and tissue cultures. The Laboratory Technician will participate in the ongoing and new projects and will focus on immunotherapy in mouse models, cancer and immune cell cultures, immuno-histology, flow cytometry, image acquisition and data analysis. Depending on qualifications, the candidate may also be also cross-trained to provide occasional assistance with preparation of dendritic cells for clinical trials.
The applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field; or Associate’s degree in a science-related field and the equivalent of two years of full-time laboratory experience. The preferred candidate will have experience with mouse tumor models, long term cultures of mouse and human primary cells (lymphocytes, myeloid cells) and tumor cell lines, flow cytometry, immune-fluorescence microscopy, data analysis and preparation of scientific reports MINIMUM.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
