Health Research, Inc. (HRI) Roswell Park Division is seeking a full-time Laboratory Technician. The Laboratory Technician will manage ordering of reagents and inventory, schedule and communicate tasks to lab staff under supervisor's orders, generate official reports. Perform technical lab work requiring strong skills including plasmid preparation, subcloning, flow cytometry, ELISA, and PCR. Will manipulate mice for experiments. Monitor equipment for temperature fluctuations, keep electronic records of temperatures, reagents and experiments; Keep and manipulate mammalian cells in culture including vector transfections and keep cell inventory up to date. Performs technical laboratory work in a scientific research laboratory.
The applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field; or an Associate’s degree in a science-related field and the equivalent of two years of full-time laboratory experience. The preferred candidate will have a Bachelors degree and 1 year experience. The preferred candidate will also have experience in maintenance of lab inventory; culturing mammalian cells (mouse or human) and using sterile technique in a biosafety cabinet. Must have the ability to work in a fast paced molecular biology environment (PCR, cloning, DNA/RNA extraction) utilizing meticulous skills requiring a high level of precision. The candidate must also be a team player and have attention to details.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
