Description of Duties:
The Laboratory Technician focuses on translational and clinical research in the area of cancer immunotherapy. The goal is to develop and test, in pre-clinical settings, new forms of cell-based therapy of cancer combined with manipulation of the tumor micro environment to enhance the effectiveness of cancer immunotherapy. The research involves human and, in particular, mouse preclinical models ranging from tumor explant cultures to mouse transplantable tumor models. The Laboratory Technician will participate in the ongoing and new projects and will focus on immunotherapy in mouse models, tumor and immune cell cultures, immuno-histology, flow cytometry and, to some extent, image acquisition and analysis.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field; or an Associate’s degree in a science-related field and the equivalent of two years of full-time laboratory experience. The preferred candidate will have experience with mouse tumor models as well as long term cultures of human and murine primary cells (lymphocytes, myeloid cells) and tumor cell lines, flow cytometry, immunofluroescence microscopy. They will also have experience with data analysis and preparation of scientific reports.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
