Description of Duties:
The Laboratory Technician performs technical laboratory work of advanced difficulty including human biospecimen handling with aseptic technique, ELISA, qPCR, flow cytometry, data analysis and daily monitoring of mouse. The Laboratory Technician monitors equipment for temperature fluctuations, keeps electronic records of temperatures, reagents and experiments; maintains inventories and orders supplies, PBMC and serum inventory up to date.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field or an Associate’s degree in a science-related field and the equivalent of two years of full-time laboratory experience. The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Biological Science. The preferred candidate will also have previous experience working with mice, training in basic experiments including cell culture, flow cytometry and ELISA. The ability to read methods from scientific literature is also preferred.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
