Description of Duties:
The Laboratory Technician performs technical lab work of advanced difficulty in a scientific research lab. Utilizes quantitative and qualitative techniques to analyze lab fluid or tissue samples. Operates and cares for lab equipment. Maintains lab supplies and related inventory. Prepares standard media, cultures, reagents, stains and solutions. Tracks, stores, retrieves and distributes specimens for lab analysis; prepares related records.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field or an Associate’s degree in a science-related field and the equivalent of two years of full-time laboratory experience. The preferred candidate will have experience working with blood products, at least 5 years of experience working in a laboratory as a technician and utilizing laboratory equipment. The preferred candidate will possess a degree in Biology or Laboratory Science.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
