Description of Duties:
This position is a career opportunity for a Laboratory Technician in rigorous academic laboratory. The Laboratory Technician performs technical laboratory work in a scientific research laboratory. The Laboratory Technician maintains the accuracy of record-keeping of scientific data essential; assists with design and perform research experiments as requested by Principal Investigator; Sets up, calibrates, and performs routine maintenance on specialized laboratory equipment; Maintains laboratory records, laboratory notebooks and inventory; and Prepares standard media, cultures, reagents, stains, and solutions.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field or an Associate’s degree in a science-related field and the equivalent of two years of full-time laboratory experience. The preferred candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively with others, excellent written communication skills and willingness to train other trainees.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
