Description of Duties:
The Laboratory Technician assists with design and performs research experiments as requested by the PI, sets up, calibrates, and performs maintenance on specialized laboratory equipment, and maintains lab records and lab inventory. They also prepare standard media, cultures, reagents, stains and solutions.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field; or an Associate’s degree in a science-related field and the equivalent of two years of full-time laboratory experience.The preferred candidate will have experience in tissue culture techniques, experience with animal handling or willingness to work with animals, and experience with basic molecular biology techniques (western blot, PCR, cloning). They will also have excellent written communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with others, and willingness to train other trainees.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
