Description of Duties:
The Laboratory Technician assists with design and performs research experiments as requested by the PI. The Laboratory Technician will set up, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance on specialized laboratory equipment, maintain lab records and lab inventory, and prepare standard media, cultures, reagents, stains and solutions.
Applicants must a Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field or an Associate’s degree in a science-related field and the equivalent of two years of full-time laboratory experience.
The preferred candidate will have experience in tissue culture techniques; with animal handling or willingness to work with animals; and with basic molecular biology techniques (western blot, PGR, cloning). The candidate will also have excellent written communication s ills, the ability to work collaboratively with others, and the willingness to train other trainees.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required. Health Research Incorporated (HRI) Roswell Park Division participates in the E-Verify program.
