The Laboratory Aide assists other lab personnel with daily activities, performs laboratory maintenance, assists with assay preparation needs, including tube labeling and sample preparation, and inspects glassware and cleans to specifications. The Laboratory Aide also runs errands for laboratory personnel, assists in laboratory stock solution preparation, assists in calibration of lab equipment, monitors and maintains supply inventory, and interfaces with investigators regarding special requests. They also perform a variety of routine manual duties in the cleaning of laboratory areas and performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Applicants must have a High School diploma or G.E.D. The preferred candidate will have an Associate's Degree with related experience or will be pursuing an undergraduate degree in the basic sciences, will have familiarity with bioanalytical lab functions, and will have computer and software skills, specifically Microsoft Excel and Word. They will also have exceptional organizational/multitasking skills and excellent written and oral communication skills.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
