Data Manager II
The Data Manager will be responsible for ensuring quality of data collection and recording in support of the PI’s research program. This includes data abstraction, data entry, data cleaning, data maintenance, while ensuring accuracy, completeness and consistency of data. The data manager will also support additional research activities under the supervision and guidance of the PI, that includes; assistance with the submission of new research protocols to the IRB and grant assembly and submission in NIH software systems. The Data Manager may also assist in the logistics of manuscript submission and preparation, including conducting literature reviews. They will schedule meetings, attend research related meetings and assist in the management of current and future data collection, which may involve recruitment of participants for remotely delivered exercise intervention trials and remotely tracking fitbit data through various software platforms. The Data Manager will also aid in the supervision of graduate students in the PI’s research program.
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of two years of full-time experience in a clinical trials and/or research environment or an Associate’s degree and the equivalent of four years of full-time experience in a clinical trials and/or research environment. The preferred candidate will have the following: a Bachelor’s degree with three to five years of relevant experience or Master’s degree in health-related field with one to two years of experience; Experience working with electronic health record systems and clinical data abstraction; Experience in using ACCESS and/or RedCap and developing and maintaining research databases; Experience working with biospecimen data; and experience in working with, manipulating and cleaning epidemiological and clinical data. The preferred candidate should possess an eagerness to learn new software packages as they relate to the PI’s research. They should have demonstrated excellent writing skills and possess excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills and be motivated to work independently.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
