Data Manager II
The Data Manager II provides clinical data services for a data network operation, provides support to upper-level data management staff; acts as a certified honest broker; provides guidance to data managers, researchers and other Roswell Park staff in reference to related data network activities; assumes responsibility for day-to-day management of the data network operation; assists in the development of a quality assurance program for research data across the organization provides protocol review to determine regulatory compliance for delivery of data; acts as a backup operational expert to upper-level data management staff; assists in the writing of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the data network operation.
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of two years of full-time experience in a clinical trials and/or research environment or an Associate’s degree and the equivalent of four years of full-time experience in a clinical trials and/or research environment. The preferred candidate will have previous full time working experience of one year Data Manager; be familiar with procedures of the BMPK Shared Resource; be familiar with handling of pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) data and genetic association studies; possess the ability to request clinical data: e.g. demographics, genotype, co-medication, treatment information (start dates, stop dates, dose), adverse events, and PK/PD parameters; possess the ability to collect requested clinical data and build a database (e.g. Microsoft Excel); possess the ability to extract data into spreadsheets suitable for analysis by pharmacometric or statistical software in a “ready to use” way. Software data format includes but is not limited to that for SPSS, SAS, R, NONMEM, and Phoenix; possess the ability to summarize demographic data and statistical results in tables and figures suitable for manuscript writing to perform basic statistical analyses, e.g. Fisher’s exact test, logistic regression; possess the ability to collect statistical results in a database (e.g. Microsoft Excel) suitable for manuscript writing; and possess the ability to summarize demographic data and statistical results in tables and figures suitable for manuscript writing.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
