Description of Duties:
The Cytotechnologist performs cytology screening, evaluation, and interpretation of gynecologic and non-gynecologic slides. The Cytotechnologist assists with needle aspiration biopsy procedures, staining, and associated tissue procurement. The Cytotechnologist also performs clinical laboratory procedures/tasks including specimen accessioning, report generation, quality control, preventative maintenance, and quality improvement activities.
Applicants must possess a license to practice as a Cytotechnologist in the State of New York and a Bachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology and eligibility for licensure as a Cytotechnologist in the State of New York; or a Bachelor’s degree with a one year course of study at an accredited school of Cytotechnology and eligibility for licensure as a Cytotechnologist in the State of New York.
The preferred candidate will be proficient in the use of a personal computer and MS Office applications.
