Description of Duties:
The Clinical Research Associate I will conduct all aspects of patient screening and recruitment, obtaining informed consent, data, and specimen collection tracking and follow-up in a clinical and community environment for the Data Bank and Biorepository (DBBR). The Clinical Research Associate I will also review medical records, interview patients and non-patients for study eligibility and enrollment, create and maintain accurate research records, ensure timely delivery of biospecimens to the laboratory when necessary, and conduct telephone, email and mail follow-up with patients. They will also assist with operating procedures and preparation of institutional reports when required and attend community recruitment events that may occasionally occur on evenings and weekends.
Applicants must have an Associate’s degree in a health or science related field. The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, two years experience in a clinical research or health related discipline, phlebotomy training, or be willing to train as a phlebotomist, experience working with the public at large, experience with electronic research records, and have computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft software. They will also be outgoing, enjoy working with the public, and will have the ability to excel working in a team environment.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
