Description of Duties:
The Clinical Research Associate I will support the clinical research mission of the Institute and the Clinical Pathways Department through the coordination of the "Breast Cancer Pathways Impact on Shared Decision Making and Patient Experience in Academic and Community Practice" grant. The goals of the grant are to implement educational and support programs for patients receiving chemotherapy based on clinical oncology pathways and to evaluate the impact of pathways and these programs on the patient experience from the patient's perspective. The incumbent will assure timely completion and follow-up on all IRB submissions and reports, coordinate completion of the educational materials and work with the EMR IT teams and Patient Portal Teams to assure availability for patients at the time of care. She/he will work with staff in the RPCI Breast Center and the RPCI Oncology PC offices and infusion centers to assure training in study procedures including consent and generation of education materials, administration of the survey instrument and data entry.
Applicants must have an Associate’s degree in a health or science related field.
The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a health or science related field, one year of experience as a clinical research associate or similar research support role and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Redcap. Allscripts and Via Oncology experience preferred but not required. The candidate will possess professional verbal and written communications skills and the ability to interact with patients in an empathetic manner.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
