Associate Director, Bioanalytics & Metabolomics
Health Research, Inc. (HRI) Roswell Park Division is seeking a full-time Associate Director, Bioanalytics & Metabolomics. The Associate Director, Bioanalytics & Metabolomics participates in and conducts all phases of creative, original and independent research studies in his/her field; seeks and obtains peer-reviewed funding as Principal Investigator; generates first author manuscripts depicting the results of their research studies and participates as a co-author on many collaborative projects; manages and directs the bioanalytical operations and procedural components for the Roswell Park Bioanalytics, Metabolomics and Pharmacokinetics Shared Resource (BMPK); identifies and plans for bioanalytical technologies and research strategies; understands the strategic management of available resources in relation to Roswell Park’s larger strategic initiatives; recruits, manages and supervises specific bioanalytical projects; provides concepts and ideas on leveraging and marketing existing bioanalytical and research technologies; projects usage of newer developing technologies; assists in development of long-range planning of bioanalytical/pharmacokinetic services at Roswell Park; works with Roswell faculty to help develop non-clinical and clinical research grants and publications; recruits and supervises appropriate staff to support the needs of investigator projects and provides written results and documentation for Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) applications and reports.
The applicant must have a PhD degree in chemistry, bioanalytical analysis, pharmaceutical analysis or a related field and the equivalent of five years of full-time biopharmaceutical analysis and/or metabolomics laboratory experience, including two years of full-time experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity. The preferred candidate will have experience in managing a shared resource or core; A fluid working knowledge of Sciex and Thermo mass spectrometry software, non-compartmental PK analysis software (e.g., Phoenix WinNonlin), as well as Empower software on a Waters Acquity is essential. The individual is expected to have excellent interpersonal, innovative, developmental, organizational, time-management, shortterm/ long-range strategic planning, and communicative skills to participate in all phases of creative, original, and independent grant-based research studies in conjunction with Roswell Park faculty and clinicians. The individual should have a proven track record of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities that include the ability to collaborate with peers and develop, coach, supervise and guide the work of staff members as well as recruiting, managing and supervising the shared resource bioanalytical workflow from internal and external clients to meet its fiscal objectives.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
