Description of Duties:
This Research Affiliate (Post-Doctoral) will be committed to full-time research and scholarship by participating in full-time post-doctoral research training in bioinformatics for whole genome sequencing. This will include the development of pipelines for WGS data using existing tools, annotation and functional analysis from WGS data and possible integration of epigenetic, expression and other high-throughput data, and the development of new analytic methods for WGS and integration studies.
Candidates must possess a Ph.D. or doctoral-level degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, biostatistics, computer science, cancer biology or a related field. The preferred candidate will have a strong computational background and be skilled in at least one programming language such as Perl, Java or C/C++. The preferred candidate will also be familiar with a Linux/Unix working environment, have the ability to learn new techniques and apply computational/statistical methods onto high-throughput biological data, and have the ability to be a team player and effectively interact with other researchers.
