A post-doctoral position in molecular epidemiology is available in the research program of Li Tang, PhD. Dr. Tang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Cancer Prevention and Control at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, NY. The fellow will work closely with Dr. Tang and with intramural and extramural collaborators. The research questions of interest include: 1) How do diet and genes interact to affect cancer treatment outcomes? 2) How do genetic variants contribute to racial differences in cancer characteristics and prognosis? 3) What is the role of human endogenous retrovirus in cancer development? The fellow will be mentored with an emphasis on analytic, writing, and other research skills in order to facilitate his/her transition to an independent investigator.
Applicants should have a doctoral degree in Epidemiology, Statistics/Biostatistics, Bioinformatics or other relevant disciplines, with strong quantitative research background. Experience in working with large genetic data sets and publishing high-quality research papers is preferred.
