Description of Duties:
A postdoctoral position will be available in the research team of Dr. Binnian Wei, in the Department of Health Behavior, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. This position will support the studies on assessing the exposures to and risks from harmful and potential harmful chemicals in tobacco and marijuana smoke. The position is a two-year position with potential extension. This position will support developing and validating analytical methods for the analysis of small molecules in various matrices; preparing and analyzing samples following established QC/QA rules; organizing, managing and analyzing data, conducting exposure and risk assessments using statistical and simulation models and preparing manuscripts and presenting at academic conferences.
Applicants should have a doctoral degree in analytical chemistry, environmental chemistry, exposure sciences or other relevant disciplines. Backgrounds relevant to environmental health, and/or environmental epidemiology are plus. The applicants should have rich experience in chemical and analytical laboratory; have demonstrated advanced knowledge, experience and skills in developing and validating ultrahigh pressure liquid/or gas chromatography-mass spectrometry-based methods for the analysis of small molecules; have demonstrated high level of proficiency using analytical software, including Analyst and MultiQuant; and demonstrated experience in conducting routine laboratory tasks, data management and analysis independently. Knowledge of statistical analysis using SAS, SPSS, JMP, SPSS, or R is plus.
