The Department of Immunology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow or Research Assistant position to develop a novel platform technology that opens the possibility of multifunctional products, such as an engineered oncolytic vaccinia virus that selectively infects tumor cells, to be used as a vector for targeted delivery and expression of high concentrations of therapeutic (CXCR4-A-Fc antagonist of CXCR4 receptor) molecules in metastatic tumors. The overall objective of this study is to explore changes in the dynamic interactions between malignant and stromal cells that could potentially lead to inhibition of metastatic spread and unmask the patients’ own immunity for a long-term control of tumor growth by therapeutic vaccines and adoptively transfer T cells.
Interested candidates should have a Ph.D. and/or M.Sc. degree, with experience in both molecular biology and immunology. Successful applicants are expected to work independently. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Starting salary will be commensurate with experience.
