Description of Duties:
Project focuses will include circulating tumor cell detection and characterization in kidney and prostate cancers, and investigation of the role of oxidative stress in kidney carcinogenesis.Training will focus in flow cytometry-based techniques for identification of circulating tumor cells from cancer patients, and application of molecular biology approaches to study the role of oxidative stress in kidney carcinogenesis. Trainee will gain background and expertise in the genetic and molecular basis of kidney cancer, in addition to proficiency with molecular and cell biology techniques, scientific data analysis and presentation, competence in independent project execution, and general laboratory management. A limited amount of training involving mouse work, including animal handling, will be expected.
PHD in related field. Experience with common molecular biology techniques, including mammalian cell culture, PCR, western blot, flow cytometry, transfection and cell imaging.
