Description of Duties:
The candidate will take part in an NIH-funded project to study the role of prostate endothelial-epithelial cell interaction in androgen metabolism and androgen receptor signaling in prostate cancer. The candidate is expected to work independently and have the capability of trouble-shooting and developing experimental procedures, and data collection/collation/presentation to PIs.
PhD within 5 years or MS within 10 years (preferably) of laboratory experience with demonstrated expertise in: tissue and cell culture; sterile technique for handling human tissue specimens; isolation and quantification of RNA/DNA/proteins from cultured cells or tissue specimens; viral vector-mediated transduction/transfection; basic molecular biology and biochemistry techniques (agarose gel electrophoresis, Western blotting, spectrometry, flow cytometry etc.); ordering, and laboratory maintenance. Experience in RNASeq data analysis, IHC, radioactive analyses, or thin-layer chromatography is a plus.
