Director of Hematopathology
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is recruiting a Director of the Division of Hematopathology.
The position requires an individual with strong interpersonal and leadership skills, clinical expertise, record of scholarship, and a commitment to teaching. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chair, join a group of eight (8) and an additional nineteen (19) anatomic and three (3) clinical pathologists. The hematopathology clinical service is divided among bone marrow transplant, myeloid, lymphoid, and plasma cell disorders. State of the art ancillary services include flow cytometry and cytogenetics. Hematopathologists are a key component of the clinical delivery team providing consultative services to Roswell Park's oncologists.
Educational opportunities include teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and international scholars. In addition, the Center for Immunotherapy and Cancer Center Support Grant resources provide abundant opportunities for cross-disciplinary basic and translational research collaborations.
Appropriate resources for personal academic success and the academic success of the division will be provided. Expanding the division by hiring one's own faculty will be expected. Salary is commensurate with the roles and responsibilities of an Anatomic Pathology Clinical Chief (AAMC Chief), and Roswell Park offers a comprehensive benefits package.
Applicants must hold MD or equivalent degrees and be board certified in Hematology from the American Board of Pathology, as well as be eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the State of New York.
