Department of Gynecologic Oncology
Description of Duties:
The Department of Gynecologic Oncology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI), Buffalo, NY is immediately seeking to recruit a faculty member at the Assistant, Associate or full Professor level. The candidate must have a commitment to excellence in patient care, research and education. All faculty members are involved in clinical research, teaching students, residents and fellows. Experience in robotic surgery is required. Opportunities exist for collaborative research in clinical, basic or translational sciences at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. RPCI and the Department have an outstanding track record of interdisciplinary clinical care, coupled with highly productive department-based clinical and basic research efforts. The Department is a member of NRG Oncology and has a four-year ABOG approved fellowship program with an NCI T32 grant. We are home to one of the largest research and clinical programs in the United States that is focused on preventing, understanding and curing ovarian and other gynecological cancers. The Department has garnered two major peer-reviewed grants - a $11 million SPORE (Specialized Program of Research Excellence) grant from the NCI for the study of immune based approaches for the treatment of ovarian cancer; and a $11.9 million grant from the New York State Stem Cell Board (NYSTEM) to pioneer a novel strategy to “re-engineer” mature T cells and hematopoietic stem cells for generating sustained attack against ovarian cancer in patients with relapsed disease. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience and qualifications.
