The Department of Medicine’s Blood and Marrow Transplantation (BMT) Program at Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI), an NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, NY is recruiting for an Assistant Member. RPCI, the nation’s first cancer center founded in 1898, has made fundamental contributions to reducing the cancer burden and has successfully maintained a leadership role in setting national standards for cancer care, research, and education. The mission of the BMT program is to provide outstanding clinical care to patients, perform high quality clinical and translational research and to interact with national and international BMT colleagues. In addition, maintaining the established, FACT accredited and well-respected BMT program is critical to providing this treatment to our patients.
The successful candidate is expected to integrate into the existing BMT Program which includes learning all aspects of CIBMTR reporting, FACT requirements, Quality Management, Data Management (includes database administration, structure, coding, flow of data), participate in and initiate BMT clinical research studies at the local and national level, publish in peer-reviewed journals, present research findings at national meetings, and secure peer-reviewed funding of at least 30% salary recovery. In addition, the incumbent will assist other faculty to integrate and expand the data reporting, quality management and accreditation needs of the Cellular Therapy program and enhance communication between and across service lines.
The successful candidate will receive a competitive start-up package and salary commensurate with their experience. The position will remain open until it is filled and candidate screening will start August 2017.
A Ph.D. in Epidemiology or a related field is required. A track record of independent peer-reviewed publications, knowledge of blood and marrow transplantation, hematologic malignancies and/or cellular therapy is highly desirable.
