The Tissue Acquisition Technician will be responsible for collecting, recording, processing and packaging for shipment of post mortem tissues; micro-dissection of organ samples into defined, predetermined sizes according to Standard Operating Procedures and established quality processes; travel to site collection; preparation and set up for tissue collection; packaging of tissues for shipment; completion of chain of custody forms; clean up; data entry; and communication and interaction with external Organ Procurement Organizations.
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a clinical or science-related field or an Associate’s degree in a clinical or science-related field and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time clinical or research experience.
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Cancer Institute as following acceptable educational practices
The preferred candidate will have knowledge of human organ and tissue anatomy and have experience with tissue dissection.
