Senior Clinical Laboratory Technologist
Assists supervisor with the direction and coordination of the activities of workers engaged in a specific discipline of laboratory tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis, treatment and research; provides technical supervision and training to subordinate-level staff members; performs simple and complex laboratory test procedures in a timely manner as assigned; obtains and interprets data for diagnosis and treatment of disease; performs related laboratory technology duties. Functions as lead technical staff member in the molecular pathology laboratory.
The applicant must have Possession of a full license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York and the equivalent of six years of full-time experience in the specific laboratory discipline; or a Bachelor’s degree in medical or clinical laboratory technology or a related discipline, eligibility for full licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York and the equivalent of six years of full-time experience in the specific laboratory discipline. The preferred candidate will have previous/current experience in molecular test procedures as well as previous/current experience in test development, validation and procedure implementation.
