Senior Clinical Laboratory
Directs and coordinates the activities of laboratory staff members at the RPCI satellite laboratory. Provides oversight for quality control, preventative maintenance, quality assurance, procedure and test validation at the satellite laboratory. Works with the main site supervisory team in maintaining regulatory compliance at the satellite facility including standard operating procedure development and staff training and competency assessment. Routinely performs laboratory testing procedures including specimen procurement by venipuncture and capillary techniques, specimen processing and acceptability, and specimen preparation for testing. Performs routine and emergent testing in the areas of Chemistry,Urinalysis, Blood Product release, POCT testing, and Hematology including WBC differentials.
Applicants must have possession of a full license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York and the equivalent of six years of full-time experience in the specific laboratory discipline; or a Bachelor’s degree in medical or clinical laboratory technology or a related discipline, eligibility for full licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York and the equivalent of six years of full-time experience in the specific laboratory discipline. The preferred candidate will have previous Clinical Laboratory experience, previous competency in phlebotomy techniques and excellent patient and healthcare team member customer service skills.
