Description of Duties

Provides Leadership and assists in coordination of IT clinical related projects and optimization requests including vendor selection. Independently uses their knowledge of provider and ancillary staff workflows, clinical informatics, and information technology to support and disseminate the strategic initiatives and vision for clinical applications and informatics projects as developed by the Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO); develops and refines informatics strategies and vision that will allow Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (Roswell Park) to be more competitive by improving clinical outcomes, streamlining and optimizing clinical systems workflows and decreasing operational costs in collaboration with the CMIO; facilitates communication and acts as an advocate and change agent across all levels of the organization to promote the adoption of new processes and technologies.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a Doctoral degree in a health, computer science, or informatics related field, and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time healthcare informatics and/or direct patient care experience in a healthcare delivery setting, which include the equivalent of at least two years of full-time healthcare informatics experience or a Master’s degree in a health, computer science, or informatics related field, and the equivalent of four years of full-time healthcare informatics and/or direct patient care experience in a healthcare delivery setting, which include the equivalent of at least two (2) years of full-time healthcare informatics experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a health, computer science, or informatics related field, and the equivalent of six years of full-time healthcare informatics and/or direct patient care experience in a healthcare delivery setting, which include the equivalent of at least two years of full-time healthcare informatics experience or an Associates degree in a health, computer science, or informatics related field, and the equivalent of eight years of full-time healthcare informatics and/or direct patient care experience in a healthcare delivery setting, which include the equivalent of at least two years of full-time healthcare informatics experience or High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma with a diploma or certificate in a health, computer science, or informatics related field, and the equivalent of ten years of full-time healthcare informatics and/or direct patient care experience in a healthcare delivery setting, which include the equivalent of at least two years of full-time healthcare informatics experience. The preferred candidate will have leadership experience in a healthcare delivery setting, experience managing both multi-disciplinary clinical teams and project teams, working EHR knowledge and experience in clinical workflow design or redesign. The preferred candidate will be proficient use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio.
