Description of Duties:
The Physical Therapist provides timely evaluations, plans, documents, and executes meaningful physical therapy programs for patients with oncology related disabilities to maximize functional mobility, strength, and independence. The Physical Therapist makes recommendations for safe patient discharge and patient handling and participates in departmental quality improvement and patient/family experience initiatives.
Applicants must possess a license to practice as a physical therapist in the State of New York and a Doctorate degree from an approved physical therapy program; or a Master’s degree from an approved physical therapy program and the equivalent of one year of full time experience in physical therapy or a related field; or a Bachelor’s degree from an approved physical therapy program and the equivalent of three years of full-time experience in physical therapy or a related field.
However, all candidates must have a license to practice as a physical therapist in the State of New York.
The preferred candidate will have oncology or acute care experience, pelvic floor rehabilitation interest/experience, and electronic medical documentation experience. The preferred candidate will also have an excellent time and attendance record, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a strong commitment to their employer.
