Procures laboratory test samples from patients and normal donors for clinical and research testing purposes; performs phlebotomy using venipuncture, butterfly and microsampling techniques at patient bedside or in Roswell Park approved outpatient location(s); processes proper patient registration and handling of laboratory orders for specimen acquisition within appropriate Hospital and Laboratory Information Systems.
Applicants must possess an Associate’s degree and the equivalent of one year of full-time experience in performing phlebotomy and collection techniques or a High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and successful completion of an approved Phlebotomy certificate program or a High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of three years of full-time experience performing phlebotomy and collection techniques. The preferred candidate will have the following: experience in an oncology setting; phlebotomy experience in a high volume patient service setting; experience in a customer service setting; and excellent communication skills (written/verbal).
