Description of Duties:
The Phlebotomist I procures laboratory test samples from patients and normal donors for clinical and research testing purposes. The Phlebotomist I also performs phlebotomy using venipuncture, butterfly and microsampling techniques at patient bedside or in Roswell Park approved outpatient location(s) and processes proper patient registration and handling of laboratory orders for specimen acquisition within appropriate Hospital and Laboratory Information Systems.
Applicants must have an Associate’s degree and the equivalent of one year of full-time experience in performing phlebotomy and collection techniques; or a High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and successful completion of an approved Phlebotomy certificate program; or a High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of three years of full-time experience performing phlebotomy and collection techniques. The preferred candidate will have previous/current experience in an oncology setting an previous/current experience in a customer service setting.
