Pharmacy Technician Trainee
This is a trainee position. Incumbents will be engaged in trainee duties that may lead to the full performance level of a Pharmacy Technician. The Pharmacy Technician Trainee maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety and compliance standards, enhances professional growth and development by participating in educational programs, reading current literature, and participating in in-service meetings and workshops, and prepares other written documentation as required by the profession and the department. They also maintain, distribute, analyze and project information for required records, reports and statistics as directed, attend meetings as required, and perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Note: Incumbents must obtain and maintain certification as a Pharmacy Technician (cPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) to be eligible for appointment to a higher-level position in the Pharmacy Technician title series.
Applicants must have a High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma. The preferred candidate will have an Associate's Degree, previous pharmacy experience, and IV preparation and chemotherapy preparation experience.
