Description of Duties:
The Pharmacy Technician II is responsible for drafting medication order sets templates, facilitating the process of obtaining specialty medications and related documentation, and reviewing patients medication prior-authorization status. The Pharmacy Technician II also assists with telephone follow-up with patients (prescriptions and clinical pharmacist recommendations related). They are responsible for supporting the clinical pharmacist in their daily tasks and projects, which includes patients schedule review, preparation of patients' medication calendars, printing patients education materials, etc..
Applicants must have a Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (cPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and a High school diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and completion of an Roswell Park-approved pharmacy technician training course. The preferred candidate will have experience working with patients, oncology and/or managed care experience. They will also be highly motivated and independent.
