The Pharmacy Intern prepares and assists in dispensing and distributing medications, including oral preparations, intravenous (I.V.) medications, IV chemotherapy preparations and total parenteral nutrition preparations under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The Pharmacy Intern maintains pharmaceutical supplies in accordance with Safe Handling Practices, fills automated dispensing machines (Talyst, Euclid pre-packer, Pyxis), assists with receiving pharmaceutical supplies and in the preparation of pharmaceutical orders, as well as assists in repackaging of unit dose solid and liquid medications, and maintains and files appropriate records according to RPCI policies and procedures.
Current New York State Pharmacy Intern Permit.
The preferred candidate will be a current pharmacy student.
