Description of Duties:
The Occupational Therapist evaluates, plans, documents, and executes Occupational Therapy programs for patients with oncology related disabilities to maximize independence with activities of daily living, improve strength and endurance. Duties include providing timely evaluations, making recommendations for safe patient handling and discharge, and participating in departmental quality improvement and other institute initiatives.
Applicants must have a License to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the State of New York. They must also have a Master’s degree from an approved occupational therapy program; or a Bachelor’s degree from an approved occupational therapy program and the equivalent of two years of full-time experience in occupational therapy or a related field. The preferred candidate will have oncology and/or acute care experience, electronic medical record/documentation experience, and excellent written and oral communication. They will also have Lymphedema Therapy training.
