Description of Duties:
The Nurse plans, provides and supervises nursing interventions for individuals with cancer and cancer-related health care problems in the perioperative setting. Duties include preparing patients for surgical procedures, recovering patients in both Phase I and Phase II recovery, and working with Multidisciplinary group to care for patients in the surgical setting.
Applicants must possess a license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York and have graduated from an accredited school of nursing. Additionally, applicants must have the equivalent of one year of full-time oncology nursing experience; or one year of full-time critical care experience; or three years of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting. The preferred candidate will have ACLS and PALS certification, full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting, and experience in ASC/PACU.
