Roswell Park Cancer Institute is continually seeking applicants for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist’s (CRNA). Candidates should be aware that resumes are evaluated as positions become available. Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist’s (CRNA) are needed to administer anesthesia to patients undergoing a surgical procedure according to the plan defined by the attending physician. This position requires advanced experience in the administration of anesthesia to high risk oncology patients. Complex cases include prolonged abdominal surgery, thoracotomy, hepatic resection, major vascular surgery, extensive reconstructive surgery, as well as a variety of experimental procedures and robotic surgery.
License and Certification Requirements 1. Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York. 2. Eligibility for certification by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists. 3. Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and successful completion of an accredited nurse anesthesia program. The preferred candidate will have a Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia or Master of Science in Nursing; as well as experience as a Nurse Anesthetist.
