Description of Duties:
The Infection Control Coordinator I designs, implements and directs a hospital-wide infection control program, The Infection Control Coordinator I surveys, analyzes, reports and records activities, sets standards and evaluates compliance for practices that are associated with the prevention and control of healthcare-associated infections, and complies with mandates of required accrediting and regulatory agencies and communicates pertinent information to the members of senior management and medical staff members.
Applicants must be Certified by the National Certification of Infection Control or an equivalent national certification; or have eligibility for certification by the National Certification of Infection Control or eligibility for an equivalent national certification. They must also have a Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of three years of full-time experience with infectious disease prevention and control; or an Associate’s degree and the equivalent of five years of full-time experience with infectious disease prevention and control. The preferred candidate will be a RN.
