Description of Duties:
Under the supervision of a registered nurse, the Hospital Clinical Assistant assists with numerous duties involving direct and indirect patient care. Some duties include data collection including vital signs, weight, and height, reporting relevant and appropriate information to the registered nurse, assist health care providers with set up and performance of diagnostic procedures, maintains and ensures adequate supplies, and routinely monitors the quality and condition of supplies. The Hospital Clinical Assistant also transports patients within the Institute, picks up and delivers x-rays, supplies, mail, scans, and other items as needed in the clinic, prepares and cleans exam/treatment rooms between patients and at the conclusion of the day, and demonstrates a cooperative and respectful attitude and open communication with unit staff to promote teamwork and collaboration. They also maintain and deliver care promptly, accurately, efficiently, and in a manner that promotes patient and family safety and satisfaction and identifies and participates in performance improvement activities.
Applicants must have a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of one year of full-time direct patient experience; or a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of three years of full-time experience in a healthcare setting; or a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of three years of full-time face-to-face customer service experience; or Matriculation in a Nursing Program. The preferred candidate will possess CNA certification and have more than two years experience as a Hospital Clinical Assistant, or similar position, in an ambulatory setting. They will also have positive communication skills with patients and staff and good time and attendance.
