Description of Duties:
The Hospital Clinical Assistant, under the supervision of a registered nurse, assists with numerous duties involving direct and indirect patient care. The Hospital Clinical Assistant participates in data collection including vital signs, weight and height, etc., and reports relevant and appropriate information to the registered nurse. They also maintain and deliver care promptly, accurately, efficiently, and in a manner that promotes patient and family safety and satisfaction, assists health care providers with set up and performance of diagnostic procedures, maintains and ensures adequate supplies, routinely monitors the quality and condition of supplies, assists with clerical work, and collection and delivery of specimens to the appropriate destination. The Hospital Clinical Assistant also demonstrates a cooperative and respectful attitude, open communication with unit staff to promote teamwork and collaboration, adheres to standards and expectations of Roswell Park, and identifies and participates in performance improvement activities.
Applicants must have a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of one year of full-time direct patient experience; or a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of three years of full-time experience in a healthcare setting; or a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of three years of full-time face-to-face customer service experience; or have Matriculation in a Nursing Program. The preferred candidate will have effective oral and written communication skills, current knowledge and skill in performing job responsibilities, and Hospital Clinical Assistant Certification.
