Description of Duties:
The Hospital Clinical Assistant, under the supervision of a registered nurse, assists with numerous duties involving direct and indirect patient care including: data collection (vital signs, height, weight etc) and reports relevant and appropriate information to the registered nurse; assists health care providers with set up and performance of diagnostic procedures; maintains and ensures adequate supplies,routinely monitors the quality and condition of supplies; transporting patients within the Institute; picks up and delivers x-rays, supplies, mail, scans and other items as needed in the clinic. The HCA assists with patient flow by rooming patients timely and efficiently; prepare and clean exam/treatment rooms between patients and the conclusion of the day; demonstrates cooperative and respectful attitude and open communication with unit staff to promote teamwork and collaboration and adheres to all standards and expectations of the Institute. Maintains and delivers care promptly, accurately, efficiently and in a manner that promotes patient and family safety and satisfaction; identifies and participates in performance improvement activities; and assists with medical procedures, collecting, and labeling lab samples.
The applicant must have a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of one year of full-time direct patient experience; or High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of three years of full-time experience in a healthcare setting; or High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of three years of full-time face-to-face customer service experience; or Matriculation in a Nursing Program.
The preferred candidate will be possess a CNA certification, greater than two years of experience as an HCA or similar in an Ambulatory setting. The candidate will also have positive communication skills with patients and staff, and excellent time and attendance.
