The Dental Assistant handles and manipulates various dental instruments and pieces of apparatus in order to assist other members of the dental team including dental practitioners, healthcare professionals and dental students in the examination of treatment of patients in a dental treatment office; keeps clinical records and treatments and simple clinical records of appointments and accounts.
Applicants must have Graduation from an accredited program in dental assisting; or Thirty credits leading to a degree from an accredited dental hygienist program; or a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of one year of full-time experience as a Dental Assistant. The preferred candidate will have their dental assistant certification.
