Performs cytology screening, evaluation, and interpretation of gynecologic and non-gynecologic slides. Assists with FNA and EUS procedures and staining. Performs other routine clinical laboratory procedures/tasks including specimen accessioning, specimen processing and staining, report generation, quality control, preventative maintenance, and quality improvement activities.
Applicants must possess a License to practice as a Cytotechnologist in the State of New York; or a Bachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology and eligibility for licensure as a Cytotechnologist in the State of New York; or a Bachelor’s degree with a one year course of study at an accredited school of Cytotechnology and eligibility for licensure as a Cytotechnologist in the State of New York. The preferred candidate will have Clinical Cytology experience and experience with Fine Needle Aspirate/Rapid evaluation procedures. The preferred candidate will be Microsoft office suite proficient, excellent communication skills (verbal and written). The ability to work with a diverse population in a direct patient care setting is preferred.
