Description of Duties:
The Cytotechnologist performs cytology screening, evaluation, and interpretation of gynecologic and non-gynecologic slides. The incumbent assists with FNA and EUS procedures and staining, and performs other routines clinical laboratory procedures/tasks, including specimen accessioning, specimen processing and staining, report generation, quality control, preventative maintenance, and quality improvement activities.
The candidate should possess a License to practice as a Cytotechnologist in the State of New York; or a Bachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology and eligibility for licensure as a Cytotechnologist in the State of New York; or a Bachelor’s degree with a one year course of study at an accredited school of Cytotechnology and eligibility for licensure as a Cytotechnologist in the State of New York.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
