Description of Duties:
The Clinical Support Assistant performs clerical support functions on 5 West; answers routine inquiries; screens calls; assists visitors and patients; performs the above duties and responsibilities in a confidential environment requiring direct supervision with limited latitude for utilizing judgment and initiative. Coordinate faxes, phone calls and communication, orders supplies and refers equipment maintenance. Adheres to departmental policies and procedures. Performs other duties assigned and requested.
Applicants must have a High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of one year of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology. The preferred candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED with some continuing education with completion of medical ethics, the equivalent of two years of full-time secretarial an customer service experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology. They will also have experience working directly with leukemia patient population.
