Description of Duties

The Clinical Nurse Manager administers, directs and coordinates the provision of quality nursing care in assigned areas; manages personnel, material and fiscal resources; interacts with other departments and organization staff to ensure a collaborative approach to meeting the mission of the organization; promotes an environment that allows for continuous quality improvement and research.


Applicants must have a License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, 16 CEU’s annually and the equivalent of three years of full-time nursing experience in an oncology support setting; or a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, 16 CEU’s annually and the equivalent of five years of full-time nursing experience in an acute care support setting. The preferred candidate will possess an OCN or CCRN certification as well as supervisory experience and experience working in a critical care or emergency department setting and working with oncology patients. The preferred candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrate leadership, organizational and analytical skills; possess the ability to manage, mentor and assist staff in periods of crisis or conflict; possess the ability to conceptualize and exercise critical thinking and sound judgment and discretion; possess the ability to work in stressful conditions; and possess the ability to actively participate as part of a team and engage with all team members.
