Clinical Laboratory Technologist
Performs simple and complex laboratory test procedures in the Stem Cell Processing and Transfusion Services Laboratory. Routine duties in the Stem Cell laboratory include stem cell and Bone Marrow product processing, manipulation, volume depletion, and cryopreservation; Parathyroid cryopreservation, Autologous Eye Drop manufacture; referral and result entry of Histocompatibility testing, release, preparation, and thawing of stem cell products for bedside reinfusion; stem cell inventory management; quality control procedures; equipment maintenance and validation; quality assurance, data tracking and reporting Routine duties in the Transfusion service include Blood product component manufacturing, donor and patient Blood Typing and compatibility procedures, preparation and release of blood components for patient transfusion.
Applicants must possess a full license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York; or a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or a related health care discipline and eligibility for full licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York. The preferred candidate will have experience in Transfusion, Blood Product Manufacturing, or cell processing procedures, as well as other relevant laboratory experience.
