Clinical Laboratory Technologist
Provides technical supervision and training to subordinate-level staff members; performs simple and complex laboratory test procedures in a timely manner as assigned; obtains and interprets data for diagnosis and treatment of disease; performs related laboratory technology duties. Routine assignment will be in the Molecular Pathology laboratory performing molecular based diagnostic assays. Routine responsibilities include specimen acceptance, assay quality control, test performance, equipment calibration and maintenance, DNA/RNA isolations, PCR and rt-PCR procedures, utilization of analysis software for report interpretation, result report generation and reporting. Rotational cross-training assignment may occur across other laboratory sections within the clinical laboratories.
The applicant must have possession of a full license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York; or
a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or a related health care discipline and eligibility for full licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York. The preferred candidate will have previous/current experience in molecular test methods and/or relevant clinical laboratory experience and excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
